2010 Weekend Event Notes

The Friday night gathering at the “Top Of The Park” at the Park Place was enthusiastically attended.  Saturday evening the alumni, staff, and cadets enjoyed a dinner at the Park Place Dome.

2010 Cadet Scholarship Awards

The Scholarship committee met prior to the Saturday meeting to review the applications for the annual awards.  The following two cadets were selected at the General Meeting and each was awarded a check for $750 at the Alumni Dinner.  Congratulations to these cadets and thanks to all who applied.

The membership also voted to continue to support the Department Heads at the Academy with Grants of $250 each to Deck, Engine, and Admissions Departments.

2010 Honorary Member Award Recipient.

The Alumni Association was pleased to recognize Mrs. John Tanner as Honorary Great Lakes Academy Alumni for her many contributions to the cadets and the Academy.
