This year’s gathering is planned for the second weekend of February. We will be hosting our events at the Park Place Hotel in downtown Traverse City.

13 Feb (Sat) Business Meeting, 10:00 am at GLMA

13 Feb (Sat) Alumni Dinner, 7:30 pm at the Park Place “Dome”

Mr. Mason and Mr. Hochscheidt Honored

Two of the GLMA faculty were honored at the 2009 Annual Alumni Dinner for having reached 30 years of service to the Academy. Each was presented with a plaque and a ship’s clock to mark the achievement.

Alumni Association Presents Graduate Panel Discussion

The Alumni Association presented a Panel Discussion Saturday, February 21st at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. Moderated by Dr. Nicole Runyon (Deck1995), the discussion provided cadets with a window on the many different paths available to graduates in the Marine Industry.

Each graduate provided a brief summary of their career to date and added some good advice for those starting out on their licenses. Following the presentation, the panel took questions from the audience.
